Culture Camp

At BBNC’s Culture Camps, shareholders and descendants share in the cultures, languages, and traditions of the Bristol Bay region. Open to youth and young adults, culture camps are a chance to come together and learn our ways of knowing, doing, and being as descendants of the Alutiiq, Dena’ina, and Yup’ik people.

Every summer, a group of young people come together to embrace and strengthen their relationships to our earth, people, and waters. For one week, they connect to their heritage, building a strong sense of their own identity.

An Unforgettable Experience

The time at camp provides learning activities led by knowledge bearers from across the region. Participants can return home to share what they learn with their communities and families, serving as culture-bearers who promote and preserve Bristol Bay’s heritage.
